A little girl in a bright pink parka sings the Hallelujah Chorus, swinging an umbrella wildly about in rhythm with the song. I wonder if she’s singing in Hebrew or English. She loops back to the beginning before she runs out of Hallelujahs, so there’s no way to tell. Other people on the sidewalk duck around her and the umbrella. She almost jabs it between a bicycle’s spokes. The rider starts to curse but, seeing how small she is, thinks better of it. A large dog, lying under a table at its human’s feet, growls as she approaches, then whimpers as the end of the umbrella bounces off its head. The dog looks up at the human, who says something calming, then rests its head on its paws and goes back to sleep.
