With time to kill on a hot Friday afternoon, I hop off the bus at the mall to sit for a while in the air conditioning. The food court is busy but some tables are free. The McDonald's is out of frozen drinks. They have already started shutting parts of the kitchen down. I get an iced coffee and sit at a table to write. At precisely 4 PM, metal barriers descend in front of most of the eateries. I see that all the shops within view have closed. The Sabbath is coming. Time to go.
