At noon, the cobblestone street has blossomed with the beauty and noise of a twice-weekly arts fair. Tables and booths house kabbalistic astrologers, sellers of crystals for decoration and divination, creators of all kinds of home-made art, and makers of flavored honey. Old men on high tables get massages and healing treatments. In the distance, an electric piano plays "Bohemian Rhapsody," its tinkling timbre reining in the bombast. The neighborhood cats sit out of sight or at the fair's edges, waiting for night to return.
