There's some graffiti in my city, but not as much as I've seen elsewhere. Most of the art is in a standard international style: large colorful block letters of versions of English words with black or white outlines around them. But some markings around the city seem scrawled by a single person, with a consistent message: There were fourteen commandments, not ten. These hold the key to understanding, to peace, even to war against something (what that might be has been rubbed out). All these proclamations are written in black marker, most on posters or glass, though some mar white stone walls. I try to research what the fourteen might be and why this person might find it so important. I find links and theories online, but they blur into the usual mass of disagreement. I keep an eye out for further writings on the walls.
