He's been here for a while. (Yes, there are grandfathers at the House of a Hundred Grandmothers.) He's a widower. When he came here, his father was still alive, living here too. He was a technician, then his job ended, and he had some health problems and a stroke. He speaks slowly now, and can be hard to understand. But he's always learning. Every day, he's up in his room, taking courses at the open university. He's good to talk to, though he doesn't seem to understand that women can be educated, too. He always asks my husband questions. But I have my own college degrees too, you know.
