The grocer picks up my bag of greens. "Know that these are not --" she says something like shalev -- "but are instead spinach." This is good, since I don't know what shalev means, and I really do want spinach. When I get home, I look up the word and ask some native speakers, but I can't find a relevant meaning. I'm probably remembering some phonemes wrong, which turns what she said into another word entirely.
