The House of a Hundred Grandmothers now has a hundred and one. My family's first grandchild has been born. My mother and brother arrive from America to celebrate. Some of us meet each other for the first time, some for the first time in decades. My siblings and I can't quite pin down the last time we all were together, but it was before the new mother herself was born. We gather for lunch and for pictures. Great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, and newborn daughter pose for a photo together. Other, unofficial grandmothers drift by. They give their blessings to the four generations gathered at last.
